Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer Review:

You should consider buying the best wireless meat thermometers for smokers and open grills. It is not an easy journey to become a master griller. Which type of grill should I use? What kind of meat should I buy?

Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer

Electric, gas, or coal? Cast iron, steel, or ceramics? All of these questions are ones you’ve asked yourself at least once while cooking. Temperature is just as important as the flavor of the final ingredients.

Many people underestimate the importance of heat monitoring and use faulty equipment or ignore it entirely. A few degrees can make all the difference in the world when it is about a juicy steak or mushrooms and vegetables.

A reliable thermometer will be of great benefit to you, no matter your skill level. Let’s see what Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer has to offer!

This thermometer is my second one, one for my main residence and one for my summer home. This probe is perfect for monitoring the temperature inside and outside the dome. I smoke a lot on my Kamado Joe. The probes have been tested in a few smoking sessions, and they are working great. I was shocked to discover that my thermometer in the big green egg required calibration. It works as advertised and has good alerts as well as monitoring. One problem with the app is that I have not been able to sync it with my two devices. To add another, you will need to delete the previous one. It’s not a massive deal as pairing takes only 3 seconds and I won’t do very often. The app is also great. – Heinz Beck

Design: Unadorned

The Soraken thermometer is a square-shaped device with rounded corners. It would be suitable for use in any kitchen or backyard. The base is a cream beige/white color with a textured surface. It’s easy to hold but will spend more time attached to metal surfaces due to the magnet. The top button turns on the base and lights the backlight briefly.

Although the Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer claims to be wireless, it is only partially true. Wires are running from the probe to its base. The base then wirelessly transmits information to the companion app via a tablet or phone.

The base and app can hold up to six probes. To ensure that the chicken was cooked at the right temperature, we used two probes in the breast and one in the thigh.

The probes arrived with the wires wrapped around a spiral spool. To keep everything contained, the probes were also attached directly to the spool. The silicone handle of each probe keeps it cool while cooking. To be safe, we still used tongs or a mitt to hold the probes after they were cooked.

Although the silicone handles came in different colors, the color-coding at the opposite end was not helpful. When we tried to test our baked potatoes with all four probes, there was a lot of wire tangling and curling, even though we tried our best to keep them organized.

The clip can be used to attach a probe or probe to the oven grate or grill. It was useful to monitor the internal temperature of the grill while we were smoking meatloaves. We wanted it to cook at moderate heat.

The silicone handles of the probes were fine. We only noticed a slight burn on one probe after it was used to check a pork chop that had been placed on the grill.

There’re many online reviews about Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer that state the silicone caught fire or melted during grilling. It is best to keep them away from direct flame and watch them at higher temperatures.

The base unit displays the temperatures and presets. The probe temperature is indicated by a dot in the top display. It has a small number in its center. Because temperatures change very quickly, we would prefer that the dot was located next to the sockets.

It was difficult to see the temperature and determine which probe the dot was for in the very short time that it was visible, especially when there were three or more active probes.

The information displayed on the screen includes a battery symbol and a wireless icon.

App: A lot of great info

It was challenging to understand the instructions for installing the app. We couldn’t find the name in the instructions when we tried to search for it. We tried the QR code in the manual, but it didn’t work.

The EasyBBQ app was our top choice for searching for the missing name. It worked well with our thermometer. EasyBBQ seems to work with many brands of thermometers, but we aren’t sure if that was the one they intended.

You can edit the entire list of food suggestions and also have the option to add new ones. The app allows us to choose from well-done or rare foods. Others could adjust the temperature by simply moving the dial. There was also a range of temperatures that could be adjusted to smoke alarms. You can also create, name, and save new presets.

We created our settings to bake four types of potatoes. We also monitored the temperature to ensure they were fully cooked. Although the app was accurate, we lost track of which probe was connected to which socket. We had to trace wires from the probe to the base to find them.

The temperature graph shows how temperature changes over time. Although we didn’t use it for any of our cooks, this information could be helpful.

It is possible to view a list of alerts, which can help make sure that all your needs are met. We could set the temperature and also add a timer to each probe. A note could be added to remember to turn the steak over while we cook it.

You can customize the app for Fahrenheit, Celsius, language, alarm sounds, and many other settings. We couldn’t adjust the volume of the base, which was odd. It was quieter than we expected, but we were still receiving alerts via our remote device. Outdoor use would benefit from a louder alarm. [1]

Slow Support

We did search the internet for information about the warranty as we were doing this review. However, it was not available. It was challenging to locate Soraken online, unlike other well-known companies with a larger online presence.

However, we were able to send several questions. Although we did get one response, we would have bought a new one if there was a problem with the Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer.

Price: Reasonable

This price is reasonable for a 4-probe thermometer. However, it is possible to get a new whole unit for less than the cost of replacing all four probes if one or more probe wires fails.

Soraken Wireless Meat Thermometer Vs. Inkbird WIBQ-4T

The Inkbird IBBQ-4T costs more than the Soraken. The advantage of the Soraken’s six probes, while the Inkbird only can use four. Each probe comes with four probes, so they are identical right out of the box.

The Inkbird has many advantages. It’s waterproof, so you can leave it outside without worrying about rainstorms. The probes can be color-coded on each end.

Both ends of the probes can display all four temperatures simultaneously. The Inkbird app can be accessed from anywhere via WiFi. We prefer the Inkbird despite its higher price.

Wireless Meat Thermometers: The Advantages

The thermometer will tell you when to cook and when to stop.

1. Punctuality

You don’t want to guess what your meat will taste like. Instead, invest in precision. You will be able to cook healthier foods by knowing the temperature of your grill, grate, or meat. Although you may not have experienced the 20-degree difference in cooking beef, a thermometer will help you see it clearly.

2. Budget

Money-saving is another great benefit that people often overlook. This is especially true if you use a charcoal kamado grill or an outdoor gas grid. It is a great way to save money by not heating the grill above the recommended temperature.

Overheating the grill can cause it to overheat, and then you have to wait for it cool down. This takes forever, and then you need to wait for the heat to cool off again. This is how you see the picture. You can control the heat of your grill by measuring it instantly. You will save time and money by using less grill fuel.

3. Time

A wireless thermometer can help you distribute your time better. You can simply set the desired temperature and time and then go about your daily chores, socialize, or watch TV. The thermometer will notify you when the time is up, or the temperature has been reached.

This thermometer is a great tool that allows you to quickly and easily measure the temperature of your grill. You will find that the grill cookouts go faster once you are proficient with the device.

4. Health

A good thermometer also has health benefits. Many people enjoy grilling and smoking chicken. However, we all know that chicken must be properly handled due to the bacteria. Many people prefer to eat their beef slightly rare.

The golden zone of a crispy crust and tender meat insides can be achieved by accurate temperature monitoring. You will be able also to avoid over-burning the meat and prevent additional charring. It is possible to make a lot of steak crisp, which can be dangerous and even cause cancer.

For the greatest convenience, opt-in to get a wireless thermometer. Smoking meat is easy because you don’t have to walk around the grill all day.

This allows you to cook healthier food and save time. These devices are used by even the most experienced chefs across the globe. Humans cannot distinguish temperature differences, so why not get a smart tool to do it for you?
